BioCarbN has assembled a team of industry leaders to build and operate anaerobic digester facilities for Tyson Fresh Meats Inc. at its Lexington, Nebraska livestock processing plant.

Our Goal

The project will use anaerobic digesters to convert the plant’s animal waste, resulting biogases, and ancillary waste streams into marketable products including bio-methane and fertilizer. The bio-methane will be ready for sale on the natural gas market. BioCarbN also plans to build algae photo-bioreactors adjacent to these facilities to profitably sequester the carbon dioxide produced by the digesters and the plant’s stacks to produce algae for animal feed production.

With over 130 production facilities across the United States, Tyson’s goal is to develop as many digesters as possible as part of its corporate commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2030. The overall pipeline of projects far exceeds $1 billion. BioCarbN has entered into an alliance agreement to act as Tyson Foods’ exclusive developer of these facilities.

The Lexington project is the first of four projects and is scheduled to start construction in the latter half of 2019.
